Rushing into 2012.
Well it is almost here and I know that many off those who are near and dear to me have had a particularly horrible 2011, for one reason or another. So as we get close to 2012 I want to wish all of the people I love and care for, in the UK & beyond, all the very best for the next 12 months.
You all give me so much that you deserve to be the happiest people on the planet.
See you all in 2012.

The end of 2011 is almost here
Well a really rainy day here in Surrey and, to be fair, we haven't gone too far from the house apart from the weekly shopping trip to ASDA. Apart from that it has been one piece of excitement after the other: first off I went on the bike trainer, then it was time to do my tax return then balance the bank for December. After a lunch of home made soup (Belinda is ace at that) it was ironing followed by the shopping trip - closely followed up with cooking stir fry for tea!
How do you top that? Watch some recorded TV on the Tivo with one eye on Newcastle being outclassed by Liverpool (again!).
So a really exciting day to usher in the last day on 2011 but the highlight has to be the trip to ASDA - I am sure that the crime rate in Farnborough must drop when they all do their shopping on a Friday in ASDA. Obviously everyone who is anyone in that fair town must have got a leisure suit for Christmas and they have heard that there will be a alcohol drought tomorrow judging by what they had in their trollies.
Oh and why is it so difficult to complete your self assessment online? This must really be the most arcane computer system in the known universe!
Happy New Year.

The end of Great Expectations
So time for the third, and last, episode of Great Expectations. Today we are watching it at home and not with our friends in Heathersett. Very atmospheric and a good introduction to the world of Charles Dickens.
